Facebook assists in robbery arrest

A suspect in the robbery of a Little Rock cosmetics store was identified after a store employee told police that she and the suspect were Facebook friends.

Jessica Drayer, 22, surrendered Tuesday to police in the robbery of Ulta Beauty, 207 N. University Ave., on Nov. 28. She and an unidentified man are accused of stealing about $2,000 in perfume and beauty products from the store. When employees confronted the pair, the woman reportedly threatened them and threw a perfume bottle.

Police reported that a cashier at the store, Briana Walker, recognized Drayer because the two were friends on Facebook.

An arrest warrant was issued four days layer. Drayer of North Little Rock surrendered Tuesday and was charged with robbery and theft of property.

She was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster late Thursday.

'Pot' in car, driver flees, police say

A man was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony possession of nearly a pound of marijuana with purpose to deliver, North Little Rock police said.

Brandon Tywon Sisk, 29, of North Little Rock was arrested about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Marion Street after a traffic stop. Police said that after the vehicle stopped, Sisk, the driver, fled south on foot before being caught.

Police reported that a bag containing 15.7 ounces of marijuana was found inside the vehicle on the driver's side passenger floorboard, and that a digital scale was discovered on Sisk.

Sisk, who was also charged with fleeing, was being held in the Pulaski County jail Thursday night in lieu of $11,000 bond.

LR officer says woman bit him

A Little Rock woman was arrested after biting a police officer’s arm Thursday, police said.

An officer witnessed Natasha Rincher, 34, strike her son’s 22-year-old girlfriend in the face about 10 a.m. at their residence, 2321 S. Elm St., according to a police report.

Rincher bit an officer while he was trying to separate the two women, police said.

Rincher was booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of second-degree battery and third-degree battery. She remained on the jail’s roster late Thursday, and her bail had not been set.

Store calls police, says worker unruly

An employee of a west Little Rock Wal-Mart store, facing termination, locked himself in a store restroom Tuesday night before fleeing the store and being arrested, police said.

James Davante Ussery, 22, of 5805 Windamere Drive No. 11 in Little Rock was arrested and charged with second-degree battery, resisting arrest, fleeing, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

According to a police report, officers were called to the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 19301 Cantrell Road about 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, where an assistant manager told police that Ussery was in the process of being terminated due to his aggressive behavior inside the store and around other employees and had locked himself in a restroom.

The report states that police found Ussery outside the restroom, “yelling and screaming and using profanity,” and when police attempted to take him into custody, Ussery pushed an officer and ran outside. Outside the store, police used a stun gun on Ussery, and he was taken into custody after a minor struggle.

Ussery was being held in the Pulaski County jail Thursday night in lieu of $5,000 bond.

LR man accused of raping child, 12

Little Rock police arrested a man Wednesday afternoon and charged him with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, according to an arrest report.

Patrick Lovett, 31, of 1814 S. Rice St. in Little Rock was arrested at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at his home and charged with rape, police said.

Lovett, who was also charged with criminal contempt, was transported to the Pulaski County jail. No bail had been set as of Thursday night.

LR man arrested in store shooting

A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a Dec. 18 shooting at a Little Rock gas station, police said.

The shooting occurred at the Valero station, 7200 W. 12th St.

After viewing footage from a security camera and talking with witnesses, police named Donovan Whittington, 21, of 4015 Cobb St. as a suspect. Police arrested Whittington about 1 p.m. at 3917 W. 12th St.

Whittington was booked into Pulaski County jail on a charge of first-degree battery, and his bail was set at $25,000. He was not listed on the jail’s roster late Thursday.

An earlier police report on the shooting said two people, one of them Whittington, were treated at Little Rock hospitals for gunshot injuries in connection with the incident.

Man in cuffs tried to run, police say

A man who was handcuffed jumped out of a patrol car and fled from police Wednesday, according to a police report.

Chad Jackson, 27, of Maumelle was involved in a single-vehicle wreck in Little Rock about 5:30 p.m. He was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, and he got out of the car, pushed past an officer and fled on foot.

Jackson was caught after a short foot chase and struggle, police said.

He was booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of third-degree escape, careless driving, driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test, driving with a suspended or revoked license, fleeing, and refusal to submit to arrest.

He remained on the jail’s roster late Thursday. His bail had not been set.

LR man accused in groping report

A Little Rock man was arrested Thursday over accusations that he got into a woman’s car and groped her while she was sleeping, according to police.

Police said the man also took money from a purse in the vehicle and lied to police about his name.

Gabriel Cabrera, 42, was arrested about 2 a.m. Thursday on charges of criminal trespass, theft of property, harassment and obstruction.

He was not listed on the jail’s roster late Thursday.
