Rainy weekend ahead for much of the state

More rain will head into Arkansas on Friday night and continue through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Any severe weather will stay south of the state, although some areas may have a little thunder, Warning Coordination Meteorologist John Robinson said.

Rainfall will range from around 1/4 inch in the northwest to almost an inch in the southeast.

Most of the rain will exit the state before temperatures drop enough for wintry precipitation, Robinson said. Any chance of a small amount of sleet or snow flurries would be in the northwest part of the state between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
