Two killed in Pine Bluff crash

Pine Bluff police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that left two people dead, department spokesman Richard Wegner said.

The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. near U.S. 79/Camden Road and Sulphur Springs Road between a passenger car and a pickup, Wegner said.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2002 Nissan Sentra driven by Donald Hunter, 67, of White Hall, made a left turn into the path of a 1998 GMC Sierra driven by a 17-year-old Pine Bluff resident, Wegner said in a later statement.

The crash resulted in the deaths of two Sentra passengers, Virginia Hunter, 67, of White Hall, and Morris Rook Jr., 44, of Pine Bluff, Wegner said.

The drivers suffered minor to moderate injuries, police said.

No charges or citations have been issued in the accident.
