Police are investigating a fight that left a man dead and a woman and teenage girl injured in Little Rock on Saturday night, and an 18-year-old man has been arrested.

Little Rock officers responded at 10:55 p.m. Saturday to a shots-fired call in the 7200 block of Stevenson Drive, where they found Troy Holmes, 37, of Little Rock in a puddle of blood on the floor, according to a Little Rock police report.

His wife, Shannell Holmes, 35, told police that Tatiana Curry, 20, of Little Rock, had arrived to pick up her baby daughter from the baby's father, Roderick Gulley, 21, who also lived at the home, police reports state.

At 9:37 p.m., police had responded to the home for a fight between Curry and Gulley over who would keep their 2-month-old daughter overnight, according to police reports. After arguments and Curry eventually chasing Gulley around with what Gulley said identified as a knife, Curry left the home angry, acting like she was going to ram Gulley’s vehicle with her own before leaving the area, police said. Officers told Gulley that if Curry should return to lock the doors and call 911.

When Curry returned to the Stevenson Drive home, she brought along her sister, Anginay Curry; a man known only as Shaheed; and another unknown man wearing camouflage overalls, reports state.

When the four arrived, Troy Holmes went outside to tell them to leave, his wife told police. She then heard gunshots, and Troy Holmes went inside and collapsed on the floor, according to a report.

Tatiana Curry went into the house, and Shannell Holmes told her that she “caused this,” and they got into a physical fight, a report states.

While they were fighting, the man in the camouflage overalls pulled Shannell Holmes off Curry and hit Shannell Holmes in the head with a pistol, according to the report.

The Stevenson Drive residents regained custody and control of the baby girl, and Curry, her sister and the two men left the area, police said.

The child was reported to be uninjured, Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said. Police had previously said the four sought by police had taken the baby with them.

When authorities arrived, Shannell Holmes had a bump on her head and refused medical treatment. An ambulance took Troy Holmes to UAMS, where he was pronounced dead at 11:39 p.m.

Shannell Holmes’ 14-year-old daughter was shot in both legs, with a bullet entering and exiting through both of her thighs, according to the report. She had also been hit on the right side of the head, causing a sizable bruise. She was admitted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital and released.

After the shooting, Gulley said he was in a Wal-Mart store when Curry, her sister and the two men arrived, and the men chased him inside but were gone when officers arrived, police said.

On Sunday, Michael Mitchell, 18, of Little Rock was arrested at his home and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree battery, police said. Bail has not yet been set.

"The search for the remaining suspects continues," Allen said.
