2 small earthquakes recorded in Oklahoma

PERRY, Okla. — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded two small earthquakes near Perry in north-central Oklahoma.

The geological survey reported that both quakes were magnitude-2.8. The first was recorded at 11:22 p.m. Sunday about 8 miles southwest of Perry and the second was at 2:30 a.m. Monday about 10 miles northwest of the Payne County town.

Perry is about 65 miles north of Oklahoma City.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude-2.5 to -3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans.
