Graffiti discovered Sunday inside a Kum & Go bathroom across the street from the Rogers Police Department said an officer in Rogers will be killed on New Year's Eve, according to news release from the department.
The message stated, "A cop will be killed new year's night in Rogers, AR 12-31-14, MS 13," according to the news release.
MS-13, or Mara Salvatrucha, is a criminal gang that operates in the U.S., Mexico and Central America.
Police believe the threat is connected to threats against officers in other parts of the country, according to the news release. It will not change how officers do their jobs, the news release stated.
