CAVE SPRINGS — Benton County Emergency Manager Robert McGowen says a bus carrying college athletes slid off a slick Arkansas Highway 112 in northwest Arkansas, but said there no injuries and all on board are safe.

McGowen told The Associated Press that the rear of the bus skidded off the roadway in a curve in Cave Springs and that the 47 people on board were removed safely and taken to a nearby elementary school.

McGowen noted that there were several track and field teams in the area during the weekend competing in the Razorback Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
