Man fatally struck by train in Pulaski County, police say

Pulaski County authorities say the death of a middle-aged man whose body was found early Monday morning appears to have been caused by a train.

The man, who has been identified as Curtis Grigsby, Sr., 75, of Wrightsville, was found just after 4 a.m. lying beside train tracks near the intersection of 145th and East Front streets in southern Pulaski County, Pulaski County sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Carl Minden said. A later release from the office stated that Grigsby suffered from Alzheimer's Disease and lived near the location of the accident.

Minden told Arkansas Online that authorities believe the man was struck by a train based on his injuries, but they were unsure when the incident occurred.

Foul play is not suspected in the case at this time, Minden said.

The body was spotted by a conductor who told deputies his train was moving about 30 mph when he saw the deceased lying near the tracks.
