New England Development Co. signed a $5.25 million contract Thursday to buy 30 acres in the Gateway Town Center in southwest Little Rock so it can build The Outlets at Little Rock.

Tommy Hodges, president of the Hodges Group, said the deal will lead to the opening of the 325,000-square-foot open-air mall with 80 stores in the summer of 2015.

New England Development of Newton, Mass., will build and operate the mall, which will be located in the Gateway Town Center, where Bass Pro Shops opened in November.

The development at the intersection of Interstates 430 and 30 will have 80 “very high-quality national brand fashion” stores, New England Development Vice President Mike Barelli told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in November.

He declined to name the specific store brands at the Little Rock mall, though he said many of the same brands that have been announced for an outlet mall opening next week in West Palm Beach, Fla., will be included.

The Palm Beach Post reported the following stores at the Palm Beach Outlets: Ann Taylor, Loft, Rack Room Shoes, Guess Factory Store, Gap Factory, Skechers, American Eagle, Gymboree, Janie and Jack, Famous Footwear, Banana Republic and Perfumania.
