MovieStyle: Whither the Wood-man?

In the run-up to the Oscars an ethical debate has emerged: 20-year-old allegations of sexual abuse by Best Original Screenplay nominee Woody Allen have resurfaced, and people are taking sides. Can we morally accommodate good art when we think it’s made by a bad person? MovieStyle editor Philip Martin leads the discussion in this week’s section.

Also it turns out The Legos Movie isn’t just a long-form toy commercial, and the George Clooney written-and-directed The Monuments Men finally opens. (It was originally scheduled for a December release, but someone adjudged its Oscar chances slim.)
