Police: LR student arrested after gun found in sock

A student at McClellan Magnet High School in Little Rock was arrested Friday morning after a school resource officer found a pistol tucked into his sock.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said school security guards noticed three black males exit a "suspicious vehicle" on the school’s campus Friday morning and enter the school. Resource officers later called three students who were believed to be in the car into the school’s administration office and scanned them for “weapons and/or contraband,” Allen said.

During the search, Allen said, an officer found a Raven Arms .25 caliber pistol hidden in 18-year-old Martez Moore's sock.

The weapon was confiscated by authorities and Moore was taken into custody around 11 a.m. by Little Rock police officers. Moore was charged with one count of possession of a handgun on school property and taken to the Pulaski County jail, Allen said. The two other students, who are juveniles, were not charged.
