Moso Air Purifying Refrigerator Bag

Any place food is stored can get a little rank-smelling over time. Refrigerators are no exception, with onions, peppers, fish, leftovers that somehow ended up in the back of the refrigerator where they were forgotten until they started to grow fuzzy mold. Yuck.

It’s not as if one could just spray some air freshener in there. That could do some unpleasant things to the food supply. There’s baking soda, of course, but that might be needed for baking. And it can cause a troublesome mess if it gets knocked over.

The Moso company has been producing odorless deodorizing, dehumidifying products for some time. Now they’ve developed one specifically for the refrigerator, freezer or cooler.

Their secret? Bamboo charcoal. The charcoal absorbs odors, bacteria and moisture to make things dry and fragrance-free.

The refrigerator version is smaller than the regular Air Purifying Bag, and it comes with a little suction cup that can stick to the fridge wall. The bag hooks easily onto the cup and then doesn’t take up valuable shelf space. And if it falls over, it’s no problem. The charcoal is in a secure pouch.

They say the bag lasts up to two years and they recommend putting the bag in the sun for about an hour every month to keep it working. Once the bag has lost its usefulness, the charcoal contents can be spread around the garden as fertilizer.
