Memphis police are investigating after a Sunday night shooting left a man dead and another critically injured.
About 9:50 p.m., officers were flagged down at 3840 Ridgeway Road and told about a man who had been shot, the Memphis Police Department said in a statement.
An ambulance was called to the scene, and Ladarius Madison, 18, was pronounced dead, authorities said. It was later determined that Madison was shot at 6603 Hampstead Cove.
Earlier, officers had gone to the Hampstead Cove address, where a 23-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, was inside lying on the floor and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was taken to the Regional Medical Center, also known as The Med, in critical condition.
Police didn't give any information on possible suspects or motives in the shooting. No charges have been filed, police said.
