Crews extinguished a fire at a home under construction in the Heights neighborhood in Little Rock on Monday morning.

Firefighters responded about 7:20 a.m. to the home at the intersection of Crestwood Drive and Beechwood Street, where Crestwood turns into Edgehill Road.

Firefighters were going in and out of the home while heavy smoke billowed from the structure. Little Rock Fire Department spokesman Capt. Randy Hickmon said fire officials are investigating the cause.

The home was connected to gas and power, but they had been turned off overnight, Hickmon added.

There were no injuries reported.

The intersection could remain blocked for a couple of hours, Hickmon said about 8 a.m.
