I-440 work to shut lanes, ramps in NLR

Work on Interstate 440 will require lane and ramp closures in North Little Rock this week, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said Tuesday.

Crews removing an overhead sign at the I-40/I-440 interchange will reduce the width of the I-40 East exit onto I-440 West so crews can work on the right-hand shoulder, the department said. Workers will also close the inside lane of I-440 to work on the left shoulder and the outside lane of I-440 East that leads to I-40 East, highway officials said.

The lane closures will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting, the department said.

Crews will also close the following ramps from midnight Thursday to 12:45 a.m. Friday:

• I-40 West onto I-440 West.

• I-40 East onto I-440 West.

• Access to I-440 leading to Jacksonville.

Traffic will be alerted using barrels and warning signs, highway officials said.
