'Extremely intoxicated' grandmother arrested, police say

A North Little Rock woman who was "extremely intoxicated" while caring for her young grandson was arrested Tuesday, police said.

Joann Robson, 51, faces a charge of third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, according to a North Little Rock police report.

An officer responded about 12:30 p.m. to Robson's home in the 100 block of College Park Circle, where he reported finding Robson having a "strong odor of intoxicants emitting from her person and slurred speech," the report said.

Robson was babysitting her 3-year-old grandson at the time, police added.

"Ms. Robson was extremely intoxicated and not able to care for the [child]," the arresting officer wrote in the report.

Robson was taken to the Pulaski County jail, though she was no longer listed as an inmate there Wednesday morning. She is due in court later Wednesday.
