Deputies shot a man early Thursday morning in Rogers after responding to a domestic disturbance, according to a news release from the Benton County sheriff's office.

The man was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center, and his name and condition have not been released. The incident is under investigation.

Deputies responded to the house at about 1 a.m. after a woman called 911 for help before the phone was disconnected. Deputies found the woman in the front yard and learned that there were two children in the house with an armed man, who was identified as the estranged husband of the woman, according to the news release.

Shots were fired from the house during negotiations, the news release stated. After a short time, the two children came out the front door.

A short confrontation between the deputies and the man ensued, during which the man was shot.

The woman was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, according to the news release.
