Little Rock man arrested in apartment fire death

This article was published February 13, 2014 at 5:34 p.m.

Police have arrested a man in the death of a Little Rock woman whose body was found inside a burning apartment building last month.

Terry Howard, 21, of Little Rock has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the Jan. 7 death of Jan Lowe, 48, Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said in a statement.

After extinguishing a fire in unit no. A-108 of South Oak Apartments, 3401 Fair Park Blvd., authorities found Lowe’s body in her bedroom, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.

Investigators concluded that Lowe’s death was a homicide.

Howard was taken into custody without incident Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Allen said Howard is currently being held in the Pulaski County jail. His bond amount was not immediately known.
