A judge on Friday set bail at $250,000 for a man charged in the murder of a woman whose body was found in a burning Little Rock apartment.

Little Rock District Court Judge Alice Lightle set the bail and also ordered 21-year-old Terry Howard to wear an ankle monitor if he is released, court officials said.

A preliminary innocent plea was also entered during the brief appearance by video from the jail Friday morning.

Police arrested Howard on Thursday on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of 48-year-old Jan Lowe, who was found dead in an apartment at 3401 Fair Park Blvd. after crews extinguished a fire there.
