Earnings report

Companies reporting quarterly earnings Thursday included:

Burger King Worldwide Inc., the fast-food chain, a profit of $66.8 million, or 19 cents a share, up from $48.6 million, or 14 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue fell 34 percent to $265.2 million. Shares rose 27 cents to close Thursday at $25.75.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., a profit of $600 million, or $2.28 a share, up from $183 million, or 74 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue fell to $19.5 billion, from $20.9 billion, a year ago. Shares rose $2.77 to close at $26.94.

PepsiCo Inc., maker of Mountain Dew, Tropicana and Aquafina, a profit of $1.74 billion, or $1.12 a share, up from $1.66 billion, or $1.06 a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 1 percent to $20.12 billion. Shares fell $1.80 to close at $79.69.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., whose brands include Sheraton and St. Regis, a profit of $128 million, or 67 cents a share, down from $142 million, or 72 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue dipped 2 percent, to $1.51 billion. Shares fell $1.73 to close at $75.36.
