Panasonic MC-UL 427 JetForce Vacuum Cleaner

With a name like “Jet-Force,” it sounds like a vacuum cleaner that would go flying around the room by rocket power.

Not quite. In this case, “JetForce” refers to an hourglass-shaped dust container designed to move dirt and debris in a way that doesn’t impede suction. It also uses centrifugal force to separate dust, air and other particles.

Because vacuums tend to miss things and let some undesirable particles shoot back out, it’s also equipped with a HEPA filter and a pet hair air turbine for Fido and Fluffy’s stubborn sheddings.

Like most vacuum cleaners these days, it also comes with the usual attachments for reaching tight spots, furniture, curtains and places high off the floor.

It weighs less than 15 pounds and sells for $149.99.
