Spring-like temperatures, possible storms in forecast

LITTLE ROCK — Spring-like temperatures are in the forecast Monday for Arkansas, but forecasters say the state could see severe weather later in the week.

The National Weather Service said some areas may see rain Monday morning before skies clear and temperatures rise into the 60s. Mild temperatures are expected early in the week, but the weather service said stormy weather is possible Wednesday and Thursday.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., said damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible Thursday afternoon and evening in much of Arkansas. The area at risk for severe weather Thursday stretches from the Arklatex region to Ohio. It includes southeast Missouri, southeast Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and northwest Georgia.
