THURSDAY’S BOYS CROSSETT 74, LAKE VILLAGE 43 Jalen Hudson led the Eagles with 25 points in a 4A-8 victory over the Beavers. Dakotah Pennington added 12 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and blocked 5 shots for Crossett, which led 30-19 at the half. CUTTER MORNING STAR 68, POYEN 62 Bailey White and Spencer May scored 20 points each as the Eagles slipped by the Indians in the semifinals of the 2A-5 Tournament in England. Dalton Dugan led Poyen with 17 points.

DECATUR 64, JOHNSON COUNTY WESTSIDE 61 Behind 22 points from Mario Urquidi and 16 from Victor Urquidi, the Bulldogs (13-9) defeated the Rebels (10-10) to advance to the finals of the 2A-4 West Tournament in Eureka Springs. Decatur trailed 31-25 at the half but outscored Westside 22-12 in the third quarter. Westside was led by 18 points from Dylan McBee, 11 from Trey Holt and 10 from Derrick McKee.

ENGLAND 58, MOUNTAIN PINE 34 Tyrik Harris scored 23 points in leading the host Lions (24-2) over the Red Devils in the semifinals of the 2A-5 Tournament. DeWayne Matlock scored 19 to lead Mountain Pine.

FLIPPIN 61, MOUNTAIN VIEW 54 Third-seeded Flippin Bobcats (25-9) had defeated every team in the conference but Mountain View (15-13) coming into Thursday as the Yellowjackets swept the regular-season series with the Bobcats. This time Flippin bolted to a 13-7 lead after one, led 30-19 at half and by as much as 35-20 in the second half in knocking off the second-seeded Yellowjackets. Sophomore point guard Spencer Politte led Flippin with 26 points while Josh Rogers had 15 and Dean Smyser scored 11. Michael Cox paced Mountain View with 17 points and Tanner Holt added 15. HILLCREST 62, IZARD COUNTY 49 Colman Evans paced the Eagles (22-8) with 27 points in a victory over the Cougars in the semifinals of the 1A-2 North Tournament at Hillcrest. Dylan Nunnally added 14 points for Hillcrest. Andrew Walker scored 14 points for Izard County while Cameron Massey added 11.

LAMAR 57, PARIS 48 Daniel McCarley led the Warriors (17-5) with 18 points in a victory over the Eagles in the 3A-4 semifinals in Lamar. Wyatt Nehus scored 16 points to lead Paris.

MELBOURNE 55, VALLEY SPRINGS 46 Fourth-seeded Melbourne hit 3 three-pointers to open the game and never let the top-seeded Valley Springs Tigers back into the contest after that. Melbourne (12-9) led 14-12 after a quarter, opened up a double-digit lead before taking a 29-23 lead at the half then took a 40-34 advantage into the final quarter. Valley Springs (24-7) pulled to within four a couple of times, but that was it. Kyler McLaughlin and Wil Dowdle scored 18 points each to lead Melbourne. Keeton Tennsion had 20 for Valley Springs.

NORFORK 82, CALICO ROCK 66 Chris Lewis scored 24 points and the Panthers overcame a 38-36 halftime deficit to knock off the Pirates in the semifinals of the 1A-2 North Tournament in Hillcrest. Brendan Casey added 19 points for Norfork. Deion Woods scored 29 points to lead Calico Rock while Brett James added 18.

THURSDAY’S GIRLS ENGLAND 47, CUTTER MORNING STAR 43 Alesha Penister scored 19 points as the host Lady Lions (22-4) held off the Lady Eagles in the semifinals of the 2A-5 Tournament. Julia Bryant added 11 and Samantha Gooden 10 for England. Destinee Hamilton scored 16 and Tiffany Miller 15 for Cutter Morning Star.

IZARD COUNTY 49, HILLCREST 39 Getting 14 points from Lauren Jones and 13 from Makayla Gross, the Lady Cougars turned back the Lady Eagles in the 1A-2 North Tournament at Hillcrest. Katelyn Richey scored 16 to lead Hillcrest, which trailed 24-16 at the half.

LAMAR 40, DANVILLE 33 Susie Nordin and Kylee Thomas scored 11 points each as the Lady Warriors (20-3) knocked off the Lady Little Johns in the semifinals of the 3A-4 Tournament in Lamar. Lauren Spencer scored 11 points for Danville.

LONOKE 63, STUTTGART 38 The Lady Rabbits (21-6) advanced to the final of the 4A-2 Tournament in Marianna behinda 22-point effort from Jarrelyn McCall. Amanda Sexton added 12 points for Lonoke.

MAGNET COVE 31, POYEN 29, OT Megan Bratten scored 15 points as the Lady Panthers survived in overtime in a 2A-5 Tournament game in England. Emma Goodmen led Poyen with nine points.

MELBOURNE 55, BERGMAN 52 The third-seeded Lady Bearkatz (16-7) earned a shot at Valley Springs in the district tournament championship game Saturday when they held off a late charge by tournament host Lady Panthers (24-9). Melbourne opened up with a 13-5 lead after a quarter and led 27-18 at half, building a 37-20 advantage in the third quarter. Bergman rallied to within 40-34 after three quarters and pulled to within a single point three times in the fourth but could not get the bucket to take the lead.Shelbie Byram led Melbourne with 16 points while Lindsey Wetzel had 14 and Ashton Ford added 13. Kenley Bonham led Bergman with 12 points.

PARIS 38, MANSFIELD 36 Hannah Simmons hit two free throws with 0.6 seconds remaining to give the Lady Eagles a victory over the No. 6 seed Lady Tigers. Lycia Peevy led Paris with 18 points.

VALLEY SPRINGS 53, FLIPPIN 47 The top-seeded Lady Tigers overcame an 11-point second quarter deficit to defeat the Lady Bobcats for the third time this season, earning their 30th victory and a spot in the district tournament championship Saturday. Flippin (22-11) led 16-12 after one quarter then built up a 27-16 lead late in the second quarter before Valley Springs (30-2) cut the gap to 27-24 at the half. While the Lady Bobcats were on a 4½ minute scoring drought, the Lady Tigers went on a 15-0 run for a 31-27 lead. Ashton Harner led Valley Springs with 20 points, while Payton Tennison scored 14 and Emmalee Taylor added 10.Hannah Davis scored 13 to lead Flippin. VIOLA 54, NORFORK 41 Hannah Duvall scored 16 points to lead the Lady Longhorns over the Lady Panthers in the 1A-2 North Tournament in Hillcrest. Haylee Conners added 12 for Viola, which led 24-22 at the half. Easton Massey scored 19 and Cheyenne Acklin 12 for Norfork.
