Work on a water main along part of Cantrell Road in Little Rock will require lane closures beginning Monday between Mississippi Avenue and Shannon Drive, west of University Avenue, according to Central Arkansas Water officials.
Lane closures along Cantrell Road will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. to avoid rush-hour traffic. Evening closures also are possible between 7 p.m.-7 a.m. Traffic will be rerouted as needed.
The closures are needed to allow workers to replace and relocate a 12-inch water main along the westbound portion of Cantrell Road from Perryville Road to Mississippi Avenue and a 2-inch water main along the eastbound portion of Cantrell Road between the two Shannon Drive entrances.
The replacement and relocation of the water mains are required as a result of the widening of Cantrell Road in the same area.
Construction and the lane closures will continue until the relocation and replacement of the water mains are completed, according to a utility news release.
