Pryor formally endorses minimum wage hike in Arkansas

This article was published February 22, 2014 at 3:34 p.m.

U.S. Mark Pryor is formally endorsing a proposal to raise the minimum wage in Arkansas.

The initiative needs 62,507 signatures of registered votes by July 7 in order to appear on the ballot in November.

Pryor said Saturday in Little Rock that the proposal is the right thing to do.

It would raise the state's current $6.25 per hour minimum wage to $7.50 per hour on Jan. 1, 2015; to $8 per hour on Jan. 1, 2016, and to $8.50 per hour on Jan. 1, 2017.

Arkansas is one of four states where the minimum wage is lower than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.

Pryor is a Democrat running for re-election. Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton has announced plans to challenge Pryor.

DDDKA, BS Boy is too stupid to comprehend your post much less understand the process. He's
incapable of anything other than spouting ignorance and invectives.

If you ever watched the National News Television, you would have seen why 20th Century Motors Corporation went out of business.

These are more moderate increases in the minimum wage which should be implemented. I am against swift raises to over $10, but the wage does need to go up. I'm with B.S. So many CEOs and the boards are paying themselves outrageous sums when their corporations are performing poorly.

You know what they say about the power of prayer BS Boy. But aren't YOU the one always quoting scripture and calling anyone who doesn't agree with you and your Pres. names?
