2nd man charged in PB man’s death

A second suspect has been charged in the shooting death of a Pine Bluff man early Friday morning.

Pine Bluff police spokesman David Price said Saturday in a news release that Shamar Womack, 34, had been charged with first-degree murder in the case. Jason Miller, 30, is also charged with first-degree murder.

The pair are accused of killing 36-year-old Taurus Goins, whose body was found in a car at the intersection of Saracen and Willow streets. He had been shot in the head. Goins was pronounced dead shortly after 3 a.m.

Womack was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to police.

“However, after additional evidence was located and further investigation by the detective division,” Price said, “Womack was developed as a suspect in the murder.”

Womack and Miller were being held at the Jefferson County jail late Saturday.
