Paragould man gets 17 years for child porn

A Paragould man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to child-pornography charges, authorities said.

Clint Everett Fields, 33, was arrested April 16 by agents of Attorney General Dustin McDaniel's Cyber Crimes Investigation Unit and Paragould police, who executed an early morning search of Fields' bedroom and found a laptop computer containing "numerous video child pornography files," Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington of Jonesboro said in a statement. Some children in the videos were as young as 6, Ellington added.

Fields pleaded guilty Tuesday to four counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving children, Class C felonies punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Fields was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment to be followed by a 15-year suspended sentence, Ellington said.
