Asher Avenue paint shop blaze extinguished

A Friday morning fire at Econo Auto Painting in Little Rock has been contained, fire officials said.

The blaze at the Econo Auto Painting paint and body shop at 4511 Asher Ave. was first reported by a passerby about 6 a.m., Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Randy Hickmon said. Nobody was inside the business at the time.

At the fire's height, 10 fire companies were working the scene; a little before 7:30 a.m., just three companies remained and the fire had been extinguished, Hickmon said.

Most of the fire was contained to a paint booth inside the building, which suffered "a lot of smoke and water damage," Hickmon said.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
