7A/6A-SOUTH SHERIDAN 55, LAKE HAMILTON 51 Bailey Richardson and Lauren Mitchell scored 13 points each as the Lady Jackets defeated the Lady Wolves. Ashton Hill added 12 for Sheridan.

5A-EAST FORREST CITY 67, NETTLETON 54 Sherelle McGowan scored 19 points as the Lady Mustangs (12-12, 8-6) defeated the Lady Raiders and claimed the No. 4 seed into the Class 5A state tournament. De’Ja Collins added 17 and Dominique Dillard scored 13 for Forrest City, which trailed 32-28 at the half. Ali Tucker’s 16 points paced Nettleton while TaShanesa Walker added 10.

PARAGOULD 40, BEEBE 38 Sydney Layrock scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Lady Rams (19-5, 14-0) finished the conference season with an unblemished mark. Alexis Benson led Paragould in scoring with 13 points. Kalela Miller scored 19 for Beebe.

5A-SOUTH HOT SPRINGS 51, WHITE HALL 26 HotSprings opened a 22-3 lead after the first quarter to finish conference play 14-0. Hot Springs led 51-19 after three quarters despite not scoring in the fourth against the Lady Bulldogs (19-6, 11-3). Berniezha Tidwell led Hot Springs with 18 points.

4A SOUTH NASHVILLE 48, DUMAS 42

NASHVILLE - Kassidy Snowden scored 19 points and the Lady Scrappers’ full-court pressure delivered the victory. Nashville (19-10) will play Malvern at 4 p.m. today.

Leading 18-17 at halftime, Nashville’s pressure defense forced several turnovers and led to a 14-7 run, capped by Snowden’s steal and layup. Nashville used a 7-0 run early in the fourth quarter to push the lead to 40-29 and coasted to the victory.

Mona Mitchell had 15 points for Dumas. CAC 67, CROSSETT 50

Falan Miller poured in 26 points as the Lady Mustangs advanced to tonight’s semifinals against Star City.

Sydnie Jones scored 19 and Chloe Elkins added 14 for CAC. Kyla Hodges led Crossett with 32 points.

2A EAST REGION MAGNET COVE 55, HUGHES 38

CARLISLE - Shelby Stone fueled a third-quarter rally and Abby Stevens hit two of her five three-pointers as the Lady Panthers (18-9) took charge in the fourth for a first-round victory over the Lady Mustangs.

Stevens finished with a game-high 21 points, scoring eight in the final quarter, and Stone scored eight in the third, helping the Lady Panthers turn a 24-21 halftime deficit into a 34-30 lead.

Stone finished with 19 points. Burgess led Hughes with 15.

POYEN 56, CARLISLE 54

Hadison Bates’ close-range basket with 59 seconds left put No. 3-seed Poyen ahead for good after tournament host Carlisle rallied from a 10-point deficit.

The last of Bates’ six three-pointers put Poyen ahead 48-38 with 6:58 left, but Faith Walker scored 11 of her game-high33 points as Carlisle pulled even at 52-52. Bates then scored from the left baseline, and Poyen’s Emma Goodman added a free throw after a steal by Shelby Ellis.

Carlisle’s Courntey Blacklock hit twice from the line with 9.6 seconds remaining, but her desperation shot from well beyond the three-point line was way short after Bates hit one of two foul shots at 5.8.

Bates finished with 21 points. Carlisle’s Bre’ana Young had 14.

1A REGION 1 MULBERRY 61, ALPENA 47

LEAD HILL - The Lady Yellowjackets (27-7) got a balanced scoring attack from their five starters to defeat the Lady Leopards.

Mulberry led 18-11 after a quarter and by as many as 10 in the second before holding a 28-20 advantage at intermission. The Lady Yellowjackets scored 20 points in the third and took a 48-33 lead into the fourth, where they led by 18 points twice.

Brittany Edwards led Mulberry with 19 points. Tristen Underdown led all scorers with 22 points for Alpena.

JASPER 53, SCRANTON 47

Senior Abby Godin scored 14 of her team-high 20 points in the second half to help the Lady Pirates (23-10) overcome a halftime deficit and defeat the Lady Rockets (24-10).

Makaela Jones and Brittany Langdon each scored 10 points for Jasper. Juliana Kremers led Scranton with 20 points and Marisa Blaschke added 13.

1A REGION 2 HILLCREST 43, ARMOREL 29

BROCKWELL - Kaitlyn Richey paced the Lady Eagles with 21 points in a victory over the Lady Tigers.

Shelbie Collard led Armorel with 10 points. Hillcrest advances to play Izard County in today’s semifinals.

VIOLA 54, BAY 39

Kalyn Brown scored 16 points as the Lady Longhorns (19-9) topped the Lady Yellowjackets in a first-round game at Izard County High School School.

Kiersten Moore added 14 and Haylee Connors 11 for Viola. Brittany Roedel scored 14 to lead Bay.
