Two dead in Pine Bluff house fire

Two people were found dead inside a Pine Bluff home that caught fire early Wednesday morning.

Authorities were dispatched to the blaze at a home at 2309 N. Sheraton Drive at 1:22 a.m., according to a news release from the Pine Bluff Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames and began a search for survivors, according to authorities. One person was located and got out of the house safely. They were later taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment where their current health status is unclear. Two other occupants were found dead inside the home.

The names of those involved in the fire were not immediately released.

The release stated that the fire is currently being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s office. No cause was immediately given for the blaze.
