LITTLE ROCK — Little Rock police say an officer has been released from the hospital after he was injured while helping evacuate homes during a fire.

Police say the fire was reported Friday night in Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood. According to police, Officer Eddie Seaton helped usher residents to safety when the fire began to spread to nearby buildings.

Police say all residents made it out of their homes safely, but Seaton inhaled a large amount of smoke and dust from a fire extinguisher. According to a police report, Seaton was taken to a Little Rock hospital Friday night, where he was treated and released.
