Wedding vows were exchanged by Mary Lauren Hollis and John Alexander Wilson at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, in First United Methodist Church of Russellville. The Rev. Roy Smith Jr. officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Anne and Mack Hollis of Russellville. Her grandparents are the late Ruth and Cal Hollis of Pine Bluff and Dorothy and the late Gordon Guetzlaff of Russellville.

Susan and Nick Wilson, 3901 N. Cedar Hill Road, No. 8, are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Nan and Afton Wilson of Pocahontas and the late Millie and John Shaddox of Nashville.

The church’s doors were decorated with wreaths of ivory hydrangeas and champagne gold accents, and the altar held crystal rose bowls filled with white roses and hydrangeas. Music was by organist Mary Lou Douglas.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory strapless ball gown. The fitted sweetheart bodice was embellished with Chantilly lace and beaded soutache. The flared tulle skirt extended to a cathedral-length train. She carried a bouquet of white roses and ivy.

Serving as bridesmaids were Lindsay Barnes of Rogers; Alia Biller of Waldorf, Md.; Lucille Busch of Russellville; Laura Cothren of Lowell; Ashlyn Holeyfield of Washington; and Jackie Ponder of Dallas. They wore cranberry-colored strapless gowns of chiffon and carried bouquets of roses.

Groomsmen were Joseph Hill, Nathan Hill and Harrison Maddox, all of Little Rock; Joel Ward and Cal Hollis, brother of the bride, both of Fayetteville; and Austin Wirth of Boulder, Colo.

A reception at Chamberlyne Country Club in Danville followed the ceremony. Guest tables held crystal rose bowls filled with roses and hydrangeas and the buffet held large arrangements of white roses and hydrangeas, larkspur, stock and English tea roses.

The bride graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor’s degree in communication. She is a casting assistant with Martinez-Nelson/ Berger Casting on the television show Hart of Dixie.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the university and a master’s degree in writing and producing for television from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He is a writers’ assistant on the television show Killer Women.

After a wedding trip to Italy the couple will reside in Los Angeles.
