Police: Suspect in LR neighborhood shooting arrested

A 20-year-old man has been arrested after police said he was involved in December shootings that injured one woman and killed a dog, a Little Rock Police Department spokesman said in a statement Sunday.

Lt. Sidney Allen said Jamie Clayton, 20, was taken into custody about 6 p.m. Saturday and was later taken to the Pulaski County jail. He has been charged in committing terroristic acts, possessing firearms, in second-degree battery and in aggravated assault, according the Pulaski County jail's website.

He is being held on a $150,000 bond, the website states.

Police said Clayton was one of the suspects witnesses identified in the Dec. 27 shootings that occurred in the area of West 25th and Lewis streets, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

Witnesses said that in one of the shootings, a man traveling in the back of a white pickup truck opened fire in the area. A 37-year-old woman was struck in the foot and declined medical treatment.
