Man uses ax to steal four cellphones from LR business

A man used an ax to steal four cellphones from a business on Bowman Road, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

About 5:24 p.m. Friday, police received a report of a robbery at Repair It Local on 303 S. Bowman Road in Suite 315. Store employee Timothy Dixon, 23, said a man dressed in all gray clothing went into the business while Dixon was in the store's back area, according to the report.

The man held an ax to the back of Dixon's head and demanded several Apple iPhone 5 smartphones from Dixon, the report states. Police said the man stole four cellphones — including an Apple iPhone 4 — from the business and ran, later dropping his ax in front of a nearby business.

Authorities describe the robber as a black man between 20 and 29 years old, about 5-foot-11 and about 300 pounds.
