A man armed with a handgun attempted to rob a Little Rock Walgreens of a truck early Thursday morning, but he was unsuccessful, police said.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said the man entered the back door of the store at 5525 W. 12th St. shortly before 7:30 a.m.

A report indicated the gunman approached several employees unloading merchandise from a semitrailer and said he was taking the vehicle.

The employees fled into a video room and watched the man run out the back door before they called 911.

Police say the man was unable to find the keys and couldn't make off with the 18-wheeler.

The gunman is described as a black man in his early 40s who stood about 5-foot-9 and weighed 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a black Kangol cap, a black leather jacket and had a navy mask up to his nose, the report said, noting employees said the man seemed "like he was high or drunk."

Police searched the area, but no arrests have been made.

No injuries were reported.
