Andi Davis, 36.

Hot Springs attorney Andi Davis was arrested on a felony theft charge Thursday morning, according to the Garland County sheriff's office website.

Davis, 36, was booked into the Garland County jail about 9:40 a.m. for theft by receiving property valued at more than $1,000, according to the website.

According to an arrest report released Thursday afternoon, police had located two trailers, which had been reported stolen, in the driveway of Davis' home on Jan. 13 after one of the trailers' owners spotted items for sale in a Craigslist ad.

When the owner, later identified as Mike Molloy, drove to the residence listed in the ad, he found his trailer parked in the driveway, according to the report. He called investigators, who upon arrival confirmed that one of the trailers belonged to Molloy and that the other trailer belonged to another man.

Davis told investigators that a man, whom she identified as Shawn Ross, had dropped off the two trailers about four weeks earlier and had given her keys to the trailer belonging to Molloy. She later told officers that she had to go "pick up her children and would return shortly" but never did, the report states.

A warrant was issued for Davis for one count of theft by receiving, and she was arrested about 8:55 a.m., according to the report.

Garland County sheriff's office spokesman Scott Hinojosa said in a statement that the charge is a Class D felony.

Davis had a relationship with state Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, which came to light from an Oct. 31, 2012 filing in a child-custody case between Davis and her ex-husband in Garland County Circuit Court, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

Davis had met McDaniel during McDaniel's 2010 campaign, during which the "inappropriate" relationship occurred in 2011, McDaniel said. McDaniel had married his second wife, Bobbi, in 2009.

Weeks after McDaniel admitted his relationship with Davis, he ended his gubernatorial campaign, saying the race should be about the state's future and not his own past.

Davis was also questioned, but not charged, in the Feb. 29, 2012 shooting death of Hot Springs resident Maxwell Anderson. Authorities found Anderson's body outside Davis’ home after she called 911 to report the shooting.

Hmmm... Politics does create strange "bed" fellows. I wonder if Mr. McDaniel will use his position to get her off again? My suspicion is that he played a role in getting her out of the mess involving the mysterious murder in her driveway. She's obviously missing some hardware upstairs

Despicable human being. She and her brother should be prosecuted in the Maxx Anderson killing. When will she be disbarred?
