1 dead, 2 injured in Pine Bluff shooting

One man is dead and two other people are injured from a Saturday night shooting, the Pine Bluff Police Department said in a statement.

About 6:45 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of three people being shot at the intersection of 17th Ave. and Beech St., according to the department.

When police arrived, they found three unidentified people — two men and one woman — all suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers found two of the shooting victims inside of a vehicle at the intersection and another person outside of the vehicle.

"All three appeared to have been shot while in the vehicle," the department said in the statement.

The three victims were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where one man died about 10:45 p.m. from his injuries, according to police. Authorities said the other man is in critical condition and the woman is in stable condition.

The victims' names will not be released until their families have been notified, the department said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the police department's detective division at (870) 730-2090 or the Pine Bluff Dispatch Center at (870) 541-5300.
