1 surrenders in robbery-slaying

2 more bandits involved in deadly shooting, LR police say

A capital-murder suspect surrendered to police Sunday, about three hours after authorities announced he was wanted.

Tracy Brown, 17, of Little Rock was arrested and charged with capital murder and two counts of committing a terroristic act. He was taken to the Pulaski County jail, where he was awaiting a bail hearing.

Brown was one of three males who, police said, robbed Terrence Brison, 32, at gunpoint, then shot at him and Thomas Gilbert, 31, on Friday. Gilbert died of his injuries.

About 9:35 p.m., Little Rock officers were called to 7212 Shetland Drive on a shooting, but soon learned that there was a shooting at 7414 Mabelvale Pike.

Officers who went to Shetland found Brison with gunshot wounds in his back and bicep, according to the police report. Brison had been sitting in the front passenger seat of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe with Gilbert at the Mabelvale address, when “three short heavyset black” men pointed guns at them, he told police.

The three men took Brison’s wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash, then began shooting at him and Gilbert, police said. When the three got into a Toyota Corolla and drove off, Brison ran to find help, police said.

He went to the Shetland home, about one-fifth of a mile away, and knocked on the door. The resident let him in and called 911. Brison was taken to St. Vincent Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

About the same time, officers who went to Mabelvale found the bullet-riddled Tahoe with both front doors open, police said. Gilbert was found dead at the shooting site, police said.

Police found a baseball cap, a tennis shoe, a bag of marijuana and a cellphone on the ground near the passenger side door, the report states.

Authorities on Saturday named Tracy Bailey Jr., 18, of Little Rock as another suspect in the fatal shooting. He is described as a 5-foot-5, 370-pound black man. Police have not named the third person they believe is involved.
