Two teenagers charged with capital murder in the fatal shooting of a man during a purported robbery have been ordered held in lieu of $1 million bonds.

Tracy Brown, 17, and Tracy Bailey, 18, each made initial appearances by video before Little Rock District Judge Alice Lightle, who also entered preliminary innocent pleas for both defendants.

Brown and Bailey, who each surrendered to police after being identified as suspects, are accused of robbing 32-year-old Terrence Brison at gunpoint before shooting him and 31-year-old Thomas Gilbert as they sat in a car in the 7400 block of Mabelvale Pike on Friday night.

Gilbert died at the scene. Brison suffered gunshot wounds in his back and bicep, though his injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Police have said they are looking for one other suspect, though they have not released an identity.

Bailey and Brown spoke only briefly during the video arraignment from the Pulaski County jail, each telling Lightle they understood after she told them they would be barred from contacting Brison if they are released. She also ordered each be required to wear an ankle monitor if released on bond.

Willard Proctor, defense attorney for Brown, asked for a reasonable bail, noting that Brown is a new father, has family in the area and is set to graduate from Central High School in the spring.

"He's never been in any sort of trouble at all," Proctor said. "This is his first offense ever."

A public defender representing Bailey at the hearing, meanwhile, questioned what evidence tied either suspect to the crime, noting it seemed only to be based on a report from the victim that the assailants were "heavyset." She added Bailey has family in the area and attends Hall High School.
