Six websites have been honored as some of the top government-based sites in the nation for 2013, according to a Wednesday news release from Information Network of Arkansas.

The websites collectively received 10 awards, with five going to the main site. Others that received recognition are the websites of the Arkansas Crime Information Center, Arkansas Office of Emergency Management, Arkansas Attorney General, the Arkansas Department of Higher Education and the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.

The sites were honored in various categories including site design, as was the case for, and innovative features, such as the Arkansas Crime Information Center’s use of CENSOR (Centralized Electronic Network of Sex Offender Registries).

The websites are managed as part of a partnership with Information Network of Arkansas, according to the release. was named a finalist in September by the Center for Digital Government in its Best of Web Awards for 2013 — the eighth time it has earned the honor.

“Arkansas has long been a leader in eGovernment, and it is an honor to once again be recognized for the innovative work on our website,” Arkansas Chief Technology Officer Claire Bailey said in a statement. “Our consistent performance in Best of the Web over the years is a tribute to the hard work and vision between our state agencies and partner, INA.”
