North Little Rock police are searching for two women who disappeared the same day this month but said the cases are not thought to be related.
Shequenia Burnett, 36, and Terkessa Wallace, 34, have both been missing since Jan. 10, the North Little Rock Police Department said.
But, North Little Rock Police Department spokesman Officer Shana Cobbs said, police do not believe the disappearances are related at this time.
According to a police report, Burnett’s mother, who reported her missing Jan. 15, told authorities that a family member went to check on her at her apartment and found the door wide open and Burnett gone. Officers found no sign of forced entry to the apartment or any evidence of foul play.
Burnett’s mother said her daughter was a “frequent drug user” and could possibly be staying with “a boy in College Station,” according to the report. Burnett has no serious medical history, police said.
Wallace was reported missing by her roommate last Thursday. According to a separate police report, Wallace was last seen dropping off her 5-year-old son with a cousin and said she would come back and pick him up later in the day. Wallace had been dealing with drug addiction and depression, according to the report.
Wallace was last seen driving a white 2009 Toyota Camry with the license plate number 290 RHM.
