Simmons First to report 4th-quarter earnings

Simmons First National Corp. will release and review its fourth-quarter earnings Thursday, the Pine Bluff-based bank said.

The company will release its earnings report before the market opens Thursday morning, and executives will follow up with a live conference call to review the report at 3 p.m.

Analysts expect earnings per share of 40 cents, according to three surveyed by financial-data firm Thomson Reuters said.

The call will also be available in live and recorded forms on the company's website, www.simmonsfirst.com.

Simmons First earned $6.9 million, or 43 cents per share, in the third quarter, up about 2.5 percent from the same period the year before.

A year ago, Simmons reported fourth-quarter earnings of $8.0 million, or 48 cents per share, a 27 percent jump from $6.3 million in the same period of 2011.
