Ruth and Benny Pruitt of Little Rock have celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary. The couple were married Jan. 21, 1940. She is the former Ruth Jackson and a retired educator for the Little Rock School District. He retired as a postal clerk from the U.S. Postal Service. They are the parents of Benjamin L. Pruitt of Detroit and Lillian M. Rutter, Charles E. Pruitt Sr. and John N. Pruitt, all also of Little Rock. The couple have six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Berniece and Jackson Bennett of Little Rock will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married Feb. 1, 1964. She is the former Berniece L. Grimmett and retired from the Pulaski County Special School District. He is retired from Fort Worth Carrier. They are the parents of Jackson M. Bennett Jr. and Micheal L. Bennett, both also of Little Rock; Pamela R. Lamb of Benton and Patricia L. Dykes of Tulip. The couple have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
TULSA - Brenda and Art Allen, formerly of Little Rock, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 21 in Little Rock with family. The couple were married Dec. 21, 1963. She is the former Brenda Taylor and retired from Southern Mortgage Corp. He is a mortgage banking consultant at Iberia Bank. They are the parents of Craig Allen of Little Rock and Brent Allen of Tulsa. The couple have six grandchildren.
FORT SMITH - Sherrell and William Buchanan will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday with a drop-in reception at the Drennen-Scott Historic Site in Van Buren. The couple were married Feb. 1, 1964. She is the former Sherrell Stallings and retired from Bercher Tire Service. He retired from Gerber Products. They are the parents of Robert Buchanan of Maumelle and Cathy Buchanan Grassi of Branson. The couple have two grandchildren.

She is the former Barbara Duncan and a retired owner and office manager at Duncan Auto Inc. He is a retired president of First Security Bank. They are the parents of Shay Raycher and Nicole Slough, both of Conway. The couple have three grandchildren.
CABOT - Marilyn and Arl Cope celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on the weekend of Dec. 21 with friends and family. The couple were married Dec. 21, 1963. She is the former Marilyn Lindsey. Both are retired. They are the parents of Arl Cope III of La Luz, N.M.; Avery Cope of Phoenix; Lita Bledsoe of Leesburg, Va.; and Walter Cope of Cabot. The couple have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
STEPHENS - Anne and Richard H. Hughes will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family trip in the summer. The couple were married Jan. 26, 1964. She is the former Anne Wreyford and a retired teacher. He is a retired professional baseball player and farmer. They are the parents of Stephen Richard Hughes of Lake Charles, La., Sherry Lynne Pelot of Conway and Scott Michael Hughes of Shreveport. The couple have five grandchildren.
