Banquet and Auction

Audubon Society Meeting
CONWAY — The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. in Room 10 of the Donald W. Reynolds Building at Hendrix College. The program will be a National Geographic documentary titled Last Lions, depicting the story of a lioness in Africa raising her family in the disappearing habitat. Diabetes Care Group
CONWAY — The Conway Regional Diabetes Care Group will meet from 7-8 p.m. in the Women’s Center classroom at Conway Regional Medical Center. Lana Moix, a corporate wellness specialist, will discuss easy ways for time-challenged people to add exercise to their daily routines. The group meets the last Tuesday of each month and is open to anyone interested in learning how to successfully manage diabetes. No registration is required. RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present QuickBooks Basics from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University. The hands-on workshop will introduce QuickBooks to small-business owners and their employees who have little or no experience using this accounting software. Topics will include setting up a new company, reconciling accounts, and working with lists, customers, vendors and assets. Computers will be provided for use during the interactive seminar. RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present Mobile Technology for Small Businesses from noon to 1 p.m. at Verizon Wireless in Russellville. This free lunch-and-learn workshop will show business owners how to use technology to conduct business anywhere. Lunch will be provided by Verizon Wireless. Savor the Symphony

Friends of the Library Book Shop
HEBER SPRINGS — The Friends of The Library Book Shop, 2255 Arkansas 25B N., is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop offers books at bargain prices. Proceeds from the shop benefit the libraries in Cleburne County. Volunteers are needed. Friends of the Library are welcome to attend the monthly meetings at 1 p.m. the second Thursday of the month. Volunteer Auxiliary Scrubs Sale
RUSSELLVILLE — The Saint Mary’s Volunteer Auxiliary will hold a scrubs sale from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 6 and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 7 in Cafés 2 and 3 at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Proceeds will benefit the volunteers’ Nursing and Clinical Scholarship Fund.
Ozark Pickin’ & Singin’
CONWAY — A family bluegrass concert will be held from 7:30-9 p.m. Feb. 8 in the James H. Clark Auditorium, 2300 Prince St. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for general seating. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Children younger than 12 will be admitted free. The concert is sponsored by the Committee of One Hundred, a volunteer advocacy group for Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Folk Center educational programs.
MORRILTON — The annual Sweetheart Dinner/Dance sponsored by the General Federated Women’s Club’s Adelaide Club of Morrilton will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The pork-chop dinner will be prepared and served by the Knights, and desserts will be provided by members of the Adelaide Club. Jim Aldridge — vocalist, showman and sax man — along with his partner, Kern Kennedy, on keyboard, will entertain and provide music for the dance. Chamber of Commerce Banquet
HEBER SPRINGS — The Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 58th annual banquet at 6 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Heber Springs Community Center, 201 Bobbie Jean Lane.
