A stretch of Scott Hamilton Drive in southwest Little Rock will close to through traffic for three weeks to allow road work, city officials said.

The work, set to run from Wednesday through Feb. 19, will close Scott Hamilton between Interstate 30 and Baseline Road to allow the replacement and reconstruction of waterlines and road improvements.

Projects will be completed one at a time at Scott Hamilton Drive's intersections with Harper Road, Avery Road and Fourche Road/J.E. Davis Drive, Little Rock officials said.

Local traffic will be allowed up to but not through work areas, and message boards will be in place to alert drivers ahead of the detour routes at Baseline and Scott Hamilton, and at I-30 and its service roads. Detour signs will also be installed along alternate routes to guide drivers, the city said.
