Springdale school evacuated after bomb threat

SPRINGDALE — Southwest Junior High School in Springdale was briefly evacuated Friday afternoon after a bomb threat was anonymously reported, police said.

In a post on its Facebook page shortly after 3 p.m., the Springdale Police Department said officers responded to scene, along with the Bentonville Bomb Squad and a bomb-sniffing dog. About 40 minutes later, the department said that no suspicious items were found but police would investigate the threat.

Students were dismissed as normal at the end of the school day, according to the post.
