Rogers police hosting community bike rides

ROGERS — Police are hoping to reduce crime in Rogers by getting the public involved in community bike rides.

The Rogers Police Department's bike patrols are hosting bike rides called Pedal With the Police each weekend starting July 6. The police say the program is meant to give citizens and the police a chance to build relationships in a relaxed setting and allow the public to speak with officers about community issues.

The bike patrol will host two separate rides each week. The rides on Saturday will last about 12 miles and start at the Rogers High School trailhead. The Sunday rides will be about 7 miles and begin at Cambridge Park trailhead. Each ride begins at 8 a.m. and they will be conducted at the pace of the slowest rider.
