Little Rock officials say three blocks of downtown streets will be closed to traffic as crews perform utility work.

Arch Street between Markham and West Third streets and Second Street between Arch and North Broadway will close from 9 a.m. Monday until about Aug. 11, the city said. Crews will be installing a high-pressure gas line under the Arkansas River for CenterPoint Energy.

The project is part of the utility relocation needed before the Arkansas Highway and Transportation constructs a new Broadway Bridge over the river, the city said.

The work will be done by Michel’s Pipeline Construction.

A live traffic map with current conditions in the Little Rock area and beyond is available here.

"North Broadway" does NOT exist at Second. The only "North Broadway" SOUTH of the river is the approach to the Broadway Bridge, ending at Markham; Broadway at Second is SOUTH Broadway.
