Volunteer group to fix up Little Rock homes

LITTLE ROCK — Some 200 teenage volunteers are coming to Little Rock next week to help fix up 14 homes in the city.

The fix-ups are part of the World Changers' annual visit to Little Rock. The group also helps cities across the country fix up substandard housing.

Roofing and painting on the homes is set to begin Tuesday.

Eligible homeowners applied in the fall to be on the group's list of fix-up properties. The eligibility rules maintained that a homeowner was at least 62 years old or disabled; must own or occupy the home and must meet income guidelines for the program.

The faith-based organization started in 1990 and has connected teenagers with thousands of service projects throughout the U.S. since.
