Little Rock detectives are searching for two suspects in a shooting early Thursday morning that left two men wounded in a downtown alley.
Officers went to 1316 S. Main St. about 3:12 a.m. and found a woman applying pressure to a gunshot wound to the shoulder of Maurice Pinkey, 27, of North Little Rock.
Pinkey was unable to say much before being taken to CHI St. Vincent Infirmary, according to police, other than that he was in an alley behind 1222 S. Main St. and that a man started firing and then fled the area.
Upon further investigation, officers found a second gunshot victim, Matt Gillum, 26, lying in the alley.
Gillum, of Little Rock, had several gunshot wounds in the chest, according to police, and he was rushed to UAMS Medical Center.
According to one witness, a man showed her a gun before the shooting and told her "I'm tired of them picking on me," police reports said.
The witness described him as a 6-foot black man in bluejeans and a purple American Idol T-shirt and carrying a white and black bag.
Another witness told officers that a different person was the shooter and was firing the whole time he fled across the street and jumped into a green, four-door Cadillac.
That suspect is described as a 5-foot-6, 145-pound black man in bluejeans and a white, collared shirt.
Police officials did not have an update on the victims' conditions.
